Today, I reached a milestone that I never thought was even achievable in such a small amount of time. It brought forth a lot of emotion and it brought forth a lot of self-reflection.
You all know me: I am one of the most open streamers. This milestone was something that I thought would take at least another year; maybe two. I will say, this streaming journey has been full of ups, downs, and everything in between. I’ve met so many amazing people. I’ve met so many not-so-amazing people. I learned lessons the easy way. I learned lessons the hard way. I cannot tell you how many times I have lost my scenes, overlays, graphics. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve fought with my bots behind the scenes to get stream running smoothly. And even then, I cannot tell you how many times I’ve had technical difficulties during stream. But, what’s crazy is how amazing, fluid, and flexible my community has been. We have made the pivot sharply over to Co-working in the morning and my community followed with EASE! We have people managing life better and we are seeing an uptick in positivity and getting things done! These Co-Working streams have done much more than just help me get back on track.
I am going to be very open and honest here. (There may be themes of domestic violence in the next few paragraphs, just a warning.)
My last serious partner, before Bryce-athan, was a horrible person who doesn’t deserve a name. We will simply refer to him as J. J was a Pokemon Rip-and-Ship streamer. When I had expressed interest in streaming, I was met with:
“No one would watch you.”
So, J, what I say to that…. is… well, eat your heart out.
If you want to stream: then stream.
If you want to become an actor/actress/actorx: then start acting.
I promise you, there is always a way to do the things you want to do. If you feel stuck and don’t know where to start, reach out to me. Let’s work together to find a starting point for you.
